SUT welcomes students from across the country and all over the world. 

Many factors are taken into consideration during the addmission process. The most important are, applicants previous academic records, completed courses, received degrees, overall standing, etc. Other factors include: reference letters, research area, recommendations availability, funding availability and lab space, etc.

Shahrood University of Technology establishes the minimum admission requirements common to all students.  However, some departments may need additional requirements.

Admission Requirements

•  There are no legal restriction for the applicants to continue their studies based on educational policy.
• Getting a valid certificate of physical and mental health from a reliable physician of IR Iran agency  and university reliable physician

All Applicants are requested to provide*:

• Completed application form for BSc applicants from BSc MSc applicants from MSc and for Ph.D. applicants from PhD
• Completed visa application forms (please download form StudentVisaApplicationForm and GeneralApplicationFormVisa1)
• Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to your educational capabilities (it must be sealed in an envelope and signed across the back flap).
• Three copies of official transcripts translated into English (see note below).
• Three copies of applicant´s passport or Identification card.
• Three recent photographs
• Applying for a Bachelor´s Degree:
  •   Holding a secondary high school certificate or diploma with a minimum GPA of 14 out of 20 (2.8 out of 4.0).
• Applying for a Master´s Degree:
  •   Holding a B.Sc. degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 14 out of 20 (2.8 out of 4.0).
• Applying for a PhD Degree:
  •   Holding a M.Sc. degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 14 out of 20 (2.8 out of 4.0).
• Applicant who wants to take part in English courses: They will be awarded some special points if they have a valid English language certificate as described in the following table:

• Applicants who wants  to take part in Persian courses*: Should hold a Persian language certificate from one of the Persian language official centers in Iran.

*Notes:

• Persian knowledge of those international applicants who have passed their previous education level in Iran is acceptable.
• After receiving an admission letter, please submit the original documents and  signed and sealed by the Iranian Diplomatic Mission in your country.
• Application materials should be submitted in one package

How to Apply

Step 1- Collect all required documents, mentioned in the Admissions section

Step 2- Scan and send all the required documents to International@shahroodut.ac.ir before the application deadline.

Step 3- Admission request will be sent to the related department and related authorities will make a decision based on provided documents.

* For fulltime students with strong academic achievements within the first semester of studies, some exemption will be awarded from SUT.
