Abstarct: Missile flight control system, due to extensive operating area and also the variable aerodynamic forces and moments during the flight, is considered in the group of complex systems to design controller. This fact according to the coupling of longitudinal and lateral motion equations and parameter varying nature of missile model which impose the designer to design a adaptive controller, becomes more visible. In this thesis, by decoupling of longituninal and lateral equations taking into consideration common asumptions, a method for design autopilot for a surface to air missile with 2DOF equations in pitch channel is proposed. The design algorithm implemented by fuzzy gain scheduling technique that placed in the group of offline adaptive control. This approach is baxsed on the design of linear controllers in the center of scheduling regions where the center of regions calculated by training a fuzzy system baxsed on info scheduling variables.Fuzzy training implemented by particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm in whitch the center of membersip functions optimized to minimize the error of linearization throughout the operating ragion. Also for design linear controllers the fractional proportional integral (FOPI) controller is proposed which the parameters set by PSO algorithm. Efficiency of propose algorithm is shown by simulation results.
