Abstarct: In recent years, changes were made on synchronous reluctance motor structure. These kinds of motors do not have slip and permanent magnetic material. So it is used in AC driver system due to its high power density and torque coefficients. In this thesis, the design of adaptive controllers for a sensorless synchronous reluctance drive system with direct torque control is proposed. Two adaptive control algorithms, which include adaptive backstepping control and model-reference adaptive control and two direct and indirect adaptive fuzzy control algorithms are designed to improve the control performance. The analysis of various theories is done to design the above controllers and the closed-loop system stability is proved. The designed controllers are applied on a typical motor and their performance will be shown. A comparison between the performance of the designed controllers in terms of errors, vibration torque, transient response and tracking will be done by then. The load disturbance will be applied on the system, and the robustness of the controller is considered.
