Abstarct: The purpose of the research is to studying the effect of 8-week aerobic and low-intensity resistance exercise on indices of adiposity in middle-aged overweight women. The research is a semi-empirical study of pre and post test kind accompanied by a control group. The statistical population include sedentary women who referred to sport centers of Emdad committee in Khoram Abad in summer of 2013.Thirty women who had regular menstrual cycle and BMI of 25 to 29.9 volunteered to participate in this research and were randomly divided into two aerobic and resistance groups. The exercise consisted of aerobic (60% HRmax) and resistance (40-45 % 1 RM) trainings for 3 days/week for 8 weeks. Statistical comparisons between groups were performed by the covariance analysis test and comparisons between pre and post- intervention periods were performed by paired t-test. Levels of statistical significance were set at p≤0.05. The results showed that there is a significant difference between aerobic and resistance groups in AC (p=0.04) and TC (0.02) at the end of the experiment. However, no significant differences in other variables were observed between the two groups. According to the results, low intensity resistance training is more effective than aerobic one to reduce indices of adiposity. Therefore, it seems that low intensity resistance training is as a therapy method and efficient supplement with other exercise methods to prevent of fat accumulation and obesity in middle-aged women
