Shahrood University of Technology was ranked 7th among Iranian universities in UI Green Metric World University rankings
The result of world’s top green universities was published by UI Green Metric institute and the Shahrood University of Technology was ranked 400th in the world and 7th among Iranian universities.
UI Green Metric institute has been ranking higher education institutions throughout the world since 2010. UI Green Metric World University Rankings is the first and only university rankings in the world that measures each participating university’s commitment to developing an environmentally friendly infrastructure. The rankings look at 6 indicators of each university (setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation and education).
The criteria include baxseline information such as the size of the university, population, the campus location and the amount of green space, information on energy use, transport, water use, recycling and waste treatment. In addition, it is also about efforts being made by the institution towards establishing green policies and management.
It is worth mentioning that 21 universities from Iran have participated in this ranking and SUT has been ranked higher than most of Iran’s Top Universities including Tehran, Sharif and Amirkabir universities
