Biography (About):
Dr. Pahlavan was born in 1978 in Babol, located in the northern region of Iran. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) at the University of Guilan, followed by a Master of Engineering (ME) and Ph.D. at the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Tehran. During his Ph.D., under the supervision of Professors Ghodraty and Shaianfar, he conducted research on the seismic performance of retrofitted horizontally curved reinforced concrete (RC) box girder bridges, a project funded by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran. In 2015, Dr. Pahlavan joined Shahrood University of Technology as a faculty member. In addition to his academic role, he has worked as an expert structural designer, contributing to the design of several tall buildings across Iran. Recently, Dr. Pahlavan has expanded his research interests to include performance-based seismic assessment of tall buildings, probabilistic seismic evaluation, the development of fragility curves for retrofitted buildings and bridges, seismic control devices for tall buildings, and soil-structure interaction phenomen
